This new book series seeks to address the questions and interpretive focal points that emerge from the intersection of Asia and Classics, each broadly defined. Topics can include receptions of ancient Greek and Roman cultural artifacts by Asians either in Asia or in diaspora; East-West interactions in antiquity; shifting definitions of Asia and Classics; the problems and difficulties of such temporal and geographic categories; and comparative studies of “Western” and “Eastern” antiquity. The series welcomes proposals for single or multi-authored monographs, edited volumes, or critical editions/translations that approach these topics synchronically and/or diachronically.
