The Tabletop Games series publishes original works from a diverse range of international scholars that offer short, pointed, and deliberate investigations of tabletop games, including board games, card games, role-playing games, and war games. Each book in the series will focus on a specific game, delving into the game’s history, its underlying mechanics and theme, its unique design elements, and its cultural relevance. Each book should also include (when possible) an interview with the designer, artist, creator, or other game creator. We are seeking manuscripts that are 35,000 to 40,000 words long that can include images, and can take advantage of University of Michigan Press’s interactive Fulcrum platform for video content.
For information on submitting a proposal or manuscript, please visit our guidelines here.
