A Checklist of the Herpetofauna of Guatemala by L.C. Stuart provides a comprehensive and updated inventory of the amphibian and reptile species in Guatemala. This revised checklist incorporates extensive research, field studies, and new data that significantly enhance our understanding of Guatemala's herpetofauna. The checklist details 319 species and subspecies, supported by approximately 10,000 specimens predominantly housed in the University of Michigan's Museum of Zoology. Organized by class, order, family, and species, it includes essential synonyms and type localities, offering a valuable reference for herpetologists and researchers. The systematic arrangement reflects the latest taxonomic insights, while the inclusion of distribution patterns across Guatemala's diverse ecological regions adds depth. Funded by the Horace H.
