Nancy Milio lived near the intersection of Kercheval and McClellan streets—where the Mom and Tots Center is now located—as a child. Since graduation from Wayne State University's College of Nursing in 1960, she has been engaged in full-time community health work. The author of recent articles in the American Journal of Nursing and other professional publications, Miss Milio also holds a master's degree in sociology from Wayne State. She is currently pursuing doctoral studies at Yale University, under a U.S. Public Health Service Research Fellowship.
