Over the last few months, the University of Michigan Press has been fortunate to have three wonderful publishing colleagues join our team!

Madison Allums is Senior Acquiring Editor for Political Science and International Relations. She was previously the Commissioning Editor of US politics and political theory at Palgrave Macmillan, where she started working as an editorial assistant in 2018 and worked her way up to commissioning editor in 2022. In addition to Michigan’s existing strength areas, Madison is particularly interested in queer politics, environmental politics, and critical theory projects. We posted an introductory Q&A with her on our blog, where she discusses the type of books she is interested in acquiring. Madison works remotely from Brooklyn, New York.

She comes to us from the University of Washington Press, where she started as an Acquisitions Fellow in 2022 and then stayed on permanently as Assistant Editor assisting mainly on the Asian and Indigenous studies lists. Beyond Michigan’s strength areas, she is interested in projects that focus on Indigeneity, caste, and migration.
