Webinar Roundup: University of Michigan Press Ebook Collection

The University of Michigan Press Ebook Collection (UMP EBC), a comprehensive collection of our scholarly ebooks for sale to libraries, has been live since January. The UMP EBC is fully accessible on Fulcrum, a leading community-developed, open source platform for digital scholarship developed with support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Fulcrum offers users the ability to read books with associated digital enhancements, such as: 3-D models, embedded audio, video, and databases; zoomable online images, and interactive media. You can see sample open access titles at: https://www.fulcrum.org/michigan.

Learn more about how your library can buy the UMP EBC:

  • A webinar and powerpoint (originally presented via LYRASIS on March 13th) are available here.
  • A webinar titled "Mission-Driven Digital—Why University Presses Are Creating Their Own eBook Collections," one of the ACRL-Choice Webinars, is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26th at 2pm ET. Register here. (Update: now that the webinar has happened, the recording can be found here.)
  • Are you going to the ACRL conference? Come say hi to Lanell White, our Director of Sales and Marketing, at booth #852. Email her at lejames@umich.edu to learn more about UMP EBC and be entered into a raffle to win a $50 Amazon gift card.
  • Another webinar will be taking place on Wednesday, April 24th at 12pm EST. There is no link yet but this post will be updated when the link is available.
