Press author Marina Whitman contributes to 'Crain's Detroit Business' post-election panel
Participating as a panelist for a Crain's Detroit Business post-election round table discussion, Press author Marina von Neumann Whitman - a highly respected economist, the first woman to serve on the President's Council of Economic Advisers, and a former officer of the General Motors Corporation - along with a selection of esteemed executives, confronted the election season's most controversial topics, from the Affordable Care Act to the national deficit.
"[W]e need to stimulate spending now and then the president really has to do what he wouldn't do while he was running and that is tackle the long-term issues, which are entitlements," Whitman responded when Crain's Executive Editor and round table moderator Cindy Goodacre asked what panelists thought was the most important thing for the president to focus on in his final term.
